Frequenty Asked Questions

What time does Sunday Worship start/end?

Our Sunday Worship is from 9:30 AM – 10:30 AM and typically last for 1 hour.

You are welcome to join us afterwards for Bible Café/Bible Study.

What should I wear?

At Cross Roads UMC, there is no dress code! Some people show up in suits or dresses, and others wear jeans and t-shirts. Wear what makes you feel comfortable—you’re among family here!

Is there parking?

Yes, we have a large parking lot in front for your use. Handicap parking is available if needed.

Which entrance do I use?

For our Sunday Service, please use the doors at the main entrance of the building.

Where is the first place I should go?

When you enter, you will be greeted at the door by our greeter, and you can check in with our greeter at the podium by the front door.

If you scheduled your visit online, make sure to let us know when you arrive so we can make sure to give you your welcome gift!

Where do I sit?

You’re welcome to sit anywhere you’d like! Our church has open seating, so feel free to choose a spot that feels comfortable. If you need help finding a seat, our friendly ushers are happy to assist.

What if I have an accommodation request?

Prior to your visit. Please let us know when filling out the form to the right, you can also email us at info@crossroadsphx.com or call us at (602) 944-1524.

On the day of your visit, you can communicate any needs or accommodation requests to our greeters or ushers.

Is there something for my kids?

Yes! Our Children’s Hour is a place where children (infants to 5th grade) are seen, welcomed, and taught about Jesus in a safe and secure environment. Find out more about our children’s ministry on Sundays.

Our Children’s Hour includes lessons, videos, and/or activities for both preschool and elementary-aged children.

Can I partake in communion?

Holy Communion in the UMC is an open table, meaning all are welcome, including those from other churches.

All persons who respond to the invitation – those who need Christ, seek forgiveness of sin, desire to become more Christlike, and want to act lovingly toward others – are welcome to commune with us.

We affirm the historic Christian precedent that people are normally baptized prior to receiving communion. Yet, as our invitation notes, baptism is not required.

What if I need to leave in the middle of the service?

No problem at all! You can quietly stand up and head out whenever you need to. If you have a child in children’s ministry, feel free to stop by and pick them up, or ask an usher for help — they’ll be happy to guide you.

You can always check our Worship page to finish the sermon if you have to leave early for any reason.

What kind of music can I expect?

We primarily sing a mixture of modern worship music and traditional hymns.

Education

We believe Christian Education guides our spiritual growth. It begins in our first years and lasts throughout the rest of our lives. Classes and studies are varied and many.

Cross Roads is a place where faith, hope and love intersect! Our mission statement is to make disciples of Jesus the Christ for the transformation of the world.

We believe that being in mission with the community and the world is essential and is one of core values.

We believe that Education through Sunday School, Bible Study, and a variety of studies are very important for our children, youth and adults.

Cross Roads affirms that all individuals are of sacred worth without exception.

We seek to journey together in faith with God’s love toward greater understanding and mutual respect.
