My Neighbor’s Voice——-What is this?

Have you ever wondered, “What were they thinking?”

My Neighbors Voice is an opportunity to listen to what your neighbors are thinking.

A small group of people—-4 to 10—will gather in our home, Jim and Myrna Stephens, to share some snacks and drink, but also to share their thoughts prompted by statements on Listening Cards.

How it’s played:

Each person will select a card from the deck and respond to question on the card. The response will only take 3 minutes monitored by a timer. Once the first person has given their response, the timer is passed to the next person and they select a listening card to answer for three minutes. No discussion will follow each person’s response. If you select a card you don’t want to answer, you may select a second card. At the end of each response, the speaker will say,

“Thanks for Listening.”

An example of a card from the Hello Neighbor deck is:

“What is your favorite museum experience? What do you think is the purpose for museums?”

The listening cards include these topics —

Hello Neighbor: Civic Rights and Responsibilities: Our Society: Health and Environment: Political Thought.

Remember we are not discussing thesis topics. We are only listening to each other share thoughts about the topics.

This is a learning process. We want to learn from each other. Come on neighbor, join us for some interesting listening. It is risk free!

The first session for listening is Saturday night at 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. September 23, 2023.
